Electrical Requirements

Always follow local electrical codes.

The FasCard Touch Kiosk operates on 120vac and comes with a standard 12' grounded power cord.  The bottom of the base has a 1/2" knock out that can be used to mount a standard 120vac power outlet inside the base. Additional holes may be drilled to accommodate other conduit sizes. Card Concepts Inc. recommends using an outlet with an isolated ground and that an Uninterruptible Power Supply (not included) be used to protect the kiosk from power fluctuations and outages.

Unpacking and Mounting the Touch Kiosk

The Touch Kiosk is packaged in a corrugated shipping assembly with an upper and lower tray as well as a protective front panel and shipping carton.  Use caution when cutting securing straps and packing tape.

To view a step by step guide to unpacking the Touch Kiosk, click the arrow adjacent to the header titled 'Unpacking the Touch Kiosk - Step by Step' below.

Unpacking the Touch Kiosk - Step by Step
  • Carefully cut and remove the shipping straps securing the Touch Kiosk to the shipping pallet.
  • Carefully cut the packing tape from the top of the shipping carton and remove it.
  • Remove the lock handle envelope. This envelope contains the locks, keys, and lock handle.

Card Concepts Inc. recommends using a two-person team lift when moving the Touch Kiosk by hand.

  • Lift the shipping carton off of the kiosk.
  • Remove the upper cardboard tray and protective front spacer.
  • Remove the plastic bag.
  • Remove the kiosk from the lower tray.
  • Once all packaging is removed, the kiosk can now be opened by inserting the lock handle and rotating counter-clockwise until the bolt disengages.
    • Rear door opens by swinging outward.
    • Front door slides forward on track.
  • Use the power cord contained within the Touch Kiosk housing to power the kiosk.
  • Store the keyboard in a safe place on location and do not connect to the kiosk unless requested to do so by Technical Support.

Mounting the Touch Kiosk

To view mounting instructions, click the arrow next to the appropriately titled header below. Please note that 'Wall' and 'In-Wall' refer to similar but separate types of Touch Kiosk mount.

Pedestal Mount
  • Set the pedestal base in the desired location- verify access to power using the 12' power cord (included).
  • Mark the base position through the mounting holes or use the Base Pattern PDF.
  • Drill out the marked locations to host a 1/2" compression anchor or similar device.
  • Install the compression anchors per manufacturer instructions.
  • Place the base over the anchors and secure with the appropriate washers/bolts.
  • Run the 12' power cord into the pedestal base.

  • Feed the power cable up from the pedestal into the spacer unit. Secure the spacer unit (C-5626) to the pedestal base using 8/32 machine screws (included).
  • Feed the power cable up from the spacer unit into the printer drawer. Open the printer drawer (C-5623) and secure to the spacer unit using 8/32 machine screws (included).
  • Feed the power cable up from the printer drawer into the Touch Kiosk. Secure the Touch Kiosk (c-5610) to the top of the printer drawer using 8/32 machine screws (included).
  • Run additional power cable slack into the Touch Kiosk to provide ample room for the kiosk drawer to open and close. Secure using the cord-keeper provided (shown above).
Wall Mount

Verify that the target wall will sustain the weight of the kiosk without damage.

  • Identify the target mounting location.
  • Secure two wall mount brackets (not included) to the target wall (studs or concreteonly) with appropriate fasteners.
  • Remove Touch Kiosk drawer (containing screen and computer components) from kiosk by depressing the release levers on the door slides. Pull forward to remove.
  • Set Touch Kiosk (with drawer removed) on the mounted brackets and seat against target wall, centering on brackets.
  • Mark four drill points at stud locations on rear kiosk door. If target wall is concrete, mark drill points equally spaced approximately 1" inside outer edge of door.
  • Remove kiosk from wall brackets and and drill 3/8" holes into marked targets on rear door.
  • Set Touch Kiosk (with drawer removed) on the mounted brackets and seat against target wall, centering on brackets.
  • Secure the kiosk to the target wall with appropriate 1/4" lag screws or anchors.
  • Mark the bottom of the kiosk through holes in the mounting bracket.

  • Drill upward into empty kiosk on marked targets.
  • Install appropriate bolts and nuts, securing kiosk to the wall mount brackets.
  • When kiosk is secure, re-install kiosk drawer.
  • Run power cable with additional slack into the Touch Kiosk to provide ample room for the kiosk drawer to open and close. Secure using the cord-keeper provided (shown above).
In-Wall Mount

Verify that the target wall will sustain the weight of the kiosk without damage.

  • Identify the desired mounting location.
  • Prepare a rough opening in target wall 1/2" larger in both dimensions than the Touch Kiosk. If mounting with the printer drawer (C-5623), account for the additional height.
  • Remove Touch Kiosk drawer (containing screen and computer components) from kiosk by depressing the release levers on the door slides. Pull forward to remove.

  • Place empty cabinet into rough opening to determine appropriate overhang for exposed cabinet face.
    • Consider the thickness of wall trim required to cover rough opening after install.
  • Mark the location of the target wall on the inside of the cabinet in two places (at minimum).
  • Remove empty cabinet from wall and drill a 3/8" hole in each target area.

  • Place empty cabinet in rough opening with 1/8" - 1/4" shims below and beside cabinet.
  • Secure cabinet to rough opening with 1/4" lag screws or anchors as appropriate (do not over-tighten).
  • Run power cable with additional slack into the Touch Kiosk to provide ample room for the kiosk drawer to open and close. Secure using the cord-keeper provided (shown above).
  • Trim surrounding visible rough opening with desired wall trim (not included).
